Back at ya!
Hi, McAllistour followers...
Sorry for the delay...internet and cell phone service in South Dakota has been less available than we had suspected when we planned our blog. We're currently stationed at a KOA Kampground in a Kamp Kabin (I kid you not). As dorky as the name is, I feel like we're staying at the Ritz Carlton tonight! Nothing like a couple of nights of tent camping and many hours of driving to help you appreciate a kute little kabin in the kountry! We have free internet, a bed, a cute little porch with a swing and electricity! Tim's off washing 2 days of dirty dishes while I blog. We're giddy! As you can tell by the number of exclamation points!!!
So, to recap...
Sunday:
Where were we? Oh yes, South Dakota. We kept on the L&C Trail to Sioux Falls, SD. A peppy little town, then turned left. We had dinner first, at Red Rossa Pizza. Great wood fired pizza and a gigantic salad. We continued our drive to Mitchell, SD--home of the Corn Palace.
After catching up on laundry and sleep in Mitchell, we headed straight to the Corn Palace, one of those roadside attraction that subscribes to the “if you build it they will come philosophies”. Plus, Terence had recommended it, so how could we not go? We spent about 10 minutes checking out the Corn Palace, (Tim: "This is cool!" Lisa: "Can we go now?") grabbed some coffee at a place called Mad Cow ("Best Coffee in the World", so they say, but I think the girl at the counter had a touch of the madcow.) and hit the road, our old friend I-90.
A pic of the Corn(y) Palace:
