Hot Stuff

We did it this week and finally got our new RAV4 with everything we wanted. V6, 4x4, sunroof, roof rack, iPod plugin. It's a beauty, and as the lady says, "I feel like hot sh** in this car!"

Here is some video of Lisa & me getting ready for work and deciding who is going to drive the new car:

Vegas, Baby!

We just flew back from Vegas, baby, and boy are my arms tired! har har. We had a good time, it is quite a site to see - pure, unadulterated, money, vice and sin. We didn't gamble too much. Lisa liked all the pretty lights and spinning wheels of the one armed bandits, and I managed to make a friend at the black jack table - but he still took my money!

Food was our top priority and we spent our entertainment dollars on our bellies. Diego at the MGM Grand, Ortanique in Paris, and the outstanding Il Fornaio in our hotel - NYNY. So nice, we ate there twice. And once for breakfast.

The weather was cold, cloudy and even a little rainy. What else do you expect on Tim & Lisa's spring break? We spent most of Monday at the Valley of Fire just north of the city. Beautiful red rocks, canyons, petroglyphs and trails. Pictures coming soon. Tuesday we went out to the Hoover Dam - ( 726 feet high and 1,244 feet long). We had seen it from the air as we flew in to Las Vegas, and the site is even more impressive as we drove up to it and eventually walked across it into Arizona.

Four days was long enough for us, and so we are back home. I consider this the preview to our big trip, as we had some time in the car - a Jeep Wrangler to be exact - seeing part of America. After renting that thing, I'm glad we'll be in something a bit more comfortable and quiet for the long haul.

Awakening

One (more) thing I am hoping for in this journey is to awaken something in me. Awaken that sense of possibility and chance and risk. I want to awaken the spirit of adventure. I want to awaken the feelings of action and movement. I want to awaken new ideas about people, about myself as an individual and as a part of a dynamic duo.

Everything I read about remarkable people and remarkable achievements are that they come from decisive moments of action. They may not always know where they are going or how they are going to get there, but they are willing to try and see and explore and find that remarkable thing, event, place, person that is out there. Nothing remarkable comes from he who sits and waits. Arise, and awaken the spirit of action and do remarkable things!

Of course, all of these remarkable things we encounter all come from within. As the Yogi says, Open to Grace and the world will flow into your heart and your heart will flow into Grace.

OK - I'm feeling a bit corny and full of my preachy self, but I really believe it is true.

The Rav4

This is what we'll be driving on our trek. The all new 4wheel drive, V6, 269 horsepower Toyota Rav 4 Sport.

Have Faith

I saw this ad for Harley Davidson in a travel magazine. I cut it out and am going to make it a mantra for the road:
"Have faith in the road ... and the road will provide."
I also believe in these mantras ~ Have faith in yourself, and your self will provide. Have faith in each other, and each other will provide. Have faith in life, and life will provide. Have faith...and faith will provide. Such simple statements with such powerful truth.

As the minstrel of the highway says, "Faith will be Rewarded!"

Horrorscopes

We looked at our horoscopes this morning - change is in the air!

Me: It's time to identify your passions and build your life around fulfilling them. This means uncovering your real ambitions, rather than the ambitions that you think you should have. Get started!

Lisa:
Your plans will shift and change. Learn to embrace the fluctuations instead of trying to make things conform to your specifications. The universe might come up with something that actually suits you better.
